What If I'm Embarrassed?

Here’s a general rule of thumb… If you’re 45 and make $100,000 you should have at least $400,000 in retirement savings.

How many of us have saved that much? More importantly, if we suspect that we’re falling behind, why don’t we seek help? I’ve talked to hundreds of people & it usually comes down to this: embarrassment.

It’s human nature to want to compare ourselves to others. When we don’t think we stack up to our peers or a certain standard, we tend to ignore and procrastinate.

Let me reassure you that you are not the only one in your situation. Over the years, I’ve seen all kinds of financial situations, and they’re much more similar than you might think.

That includes your neighbor with the luxury car, or your college roommate that appears to have it all together. From what I’ve seen, we ALL need to do better.

Frankly, the biggest differentiator in the long run is those who get help and those who don’t.

I want to encourage you and help you. There is no reason for you to be embarrassed and no reason for you NOT to take a step to start moving in the right direction. Perhaps your first step is just sending me an email today.
